Edda’s separation anxiety

So I went to the gym again today and left Edda and Vince playing in the day care area which Vince insists on calling the T.P. Club. I had a nice workout, rowed for 20 minutes and lifted one circuit of weights. Then I went back downstairs to pick up the kids and the babysitter said that Edda was OK as long as she was close enough to Vincent to be able to touch him. Sweet, huh? Luckily Vince was glued to the TV watching the Teletubbies so Edda didn’t have to scramble after him too much.

Jeremy came home for lunch today because he forgot to bring his lunch to work.

Hmmm? What else? Nothing much. Went grocery shopping tonight. woo hoo. My life is fabulous!

24/7

So it has started. Jeremy is pretty much working all the time now. Emails are coming in all night from the other side of the world. Teleconferences at 5pm or 10pm every other night. Inability to sleep well while waiting for emails.

I think I’m ditching my plans to see the finger lakes for mother’s day. I was thinking that Jeremy would take a few days off in mid-week for a mini-trip before our maxi-trip, but this is looking less and less likely. Our tickets to France have been issued.

Word.

The chicken can now be officially counted.

Tomorrow I think I am off to switch phone services. It’s starting to annoy the hell out of me that I can’t get a signal in my own house. I think the service of choice will be Cingular. The phone of choice will be the Samsung. Sorry Nokia. There is no love from me.

Offering.

In honor of Donald (again), we made an offering to the only member of our family who has a shrine, Yeager. In front of Yeager’s picture and ashes, we offered a shot glass full of Yeagermeister – a liquor that was given to use by Katherine many years ago and tastes like cough medicine. May the gods look upon you favorably.

Getting back on schedule.

This past weekend was difficult to get back on NY time. Jeremy was exhausted during the day and ready to wake up by 4 in the morning. Hopefully today will have us all back on schedule. Vince is “washing the dishes” right now and I’m scared to go into the kitchen because I think the floor may be flooded.

We bought a baby monitor because from our new bedroom location, we can’t hear the kids until they are screaming. So now they only have to make a little tiny peep.

Finally!

Went out biking for the first time today since breaking my collarbone. WOO! It was a super nice day as we went out to the coast to get some miles in. We did a loop of about 26 miles from La Honda to San Gregorio to Pescadero and back. At Pescardero we stopped in a bakery that had some fresh, hot artichoke garlic sourdough bread. Super yummy. I was tempted to stuff a loaf in my jersey and take it home. Too bad. THe shoulder felt surprisingly good, tho I’m definitely taking the decents a little slower now. 😛
