OK I had to make the photo bigger.
Do you think Vince is enjoying summer?
How to make unhappy Edda into happy Edda.
Edda can be unhappy during our outings. It’s always a challenge to cheer her up when she’s in a funk. Lately, the most reliable technique has been to make a sound like a chicken. Jeremy really got into it the other day – adding the flapping arms and scratching feet. He gets extra points for doing this in front of his parents 😉

Downtown.
Every summer, downtown Rockville has free live music/movie/events scheduled every week (maybe even twice a week). This is our 4th summer and I don’t think I’ve ever made any of the performances. This week, we decided to go see Seamus Kennedy on Thursday night.
Vince having Five Guys fries:
The best part of the evening was when Vince took Edda to the front of the crowd when Seamus Kennedy asked for all the children in the audience to come up. They sang The Unicorn Song – and Vince helped Edda do all the hand motions. Very sweet.
Camp JCC
We are very lucky that this summer Vince and Edda get to go to the same camp! They are going to the JCC camp for most of the summer and it sounds great (I hope it’s great). We get to explain a lot of (mainly food) Jewish things to the kids like why you can’t order a bacon sandwich at the Subway shop that is in the JCC or why there is soy cheese on the kosher turkey sandwich. We went to an orientation of sorts last weekend and Edda was asleep when she met her counselor who had to tell her – no sleeping at camp! (I’m not sure how well that is going to work out).
Vince eating a kosher sandwich:
The big hit of the orientation was tie-dying a shirt – I did Edda’s as she was fast asleep.
