Austin

Jeremy is suffering again from hives after a pretty mild cold. He’s been taking Benedryl at night and conking out at 8:30 which leave me in this dark hotel room typing away at our blog. I hope it doesn’t get too much worse. Today we had an early start to the day by getting up at 6 am. We went to Magnolia Cafe for breakfast (open 24hrs) and then I dropped Jeremy off at work. Then the kids and I tried to get a satallite lock on my GPS. It took about 45 minutes, pretty crappy to say the least. We went to the bookstore, BookPeople, which is my favorite independent bookstore which used to be next to the flagship Whole Foods, but Whole Foods just moved into this huge complex across the street and now BookPeople has a lot less foot traffic. So we went in to a pretty empty bookstore. Then we went to a park and then to the Central Market for lunch. There is a playscape there and Edda ate a lot. We drove until Vince napped and then when he woke up we went to ride the Zilker Zepher again and then headed back to the hotel where I could watch and episode of Oprah which was so bad (Kirsty Alley) that I had to turn the TV off. Then we went to the Green Mesquite with the Strickers and hung out until the 8 o’clock bedtime.

Good night!

First Day…

Hey all,

I’m sitting in my cube blogging away. 😛 Ha! I basically went to a training course today where they talked about benefits all day. It was okay. And I came up to my office to check things out. My computer is setup, tho it’s only a dinky 15″ LCD panel. Oye. I’ll have to see about changing that. I 409ed my work space and yeah. I think I might call it a day now!

Back to Pittsburgh within Next 1/2 hour

Will start heading back. I cut the grass, cleaned the yard, washed the toiler bowls (4), did the laundry, threw out the trash, fixed the computer for guests only (can not see our own folders), etc., and ready to head back. I found a bird nest with birds at the vine that we have besides the chimney. Hope I did not disturb them too much when cutting them.

I also visited Wendy’s dad and he was doing well. And delivered the things to Ms. Ling as instructed by Mom.

Well, it is time to get back 🙂

Back to nornal schedule

We came back to Richland last night and just eat too much. We went to Seattle too. Now it is the time to back to my normal routine. Old people like to have thier routines and I think I am a old person. but I had good time.

The flouers at Washowgal are doing very good. The neighbor kid kept our lawn in good condition.

The three weeks vacation was fun. Our friends said that we are just like teen-ageers. I am going to learn to put the pictures on the blog. I have down loaded to coumputer using the cable and I have figure out the next step.

In Austin..

We are now in the Omni Hotel in Austin. The flight went quite well, Jeremy took care of the kids on the flight. After the flight, we drove right to Scott and Sheila’s house and had a wonderful dinner and Vince and Edda played and played with Josh. Josh is quite looking forward to the new Star Wars movie. I think since we haven’t been watching TV, nor do we have a child of the appropriate age, I haven’t heard anything about the new movie. We’re off to breakfast soon!

In Washington DC

I was back to DC yesterday. Cutting the grass (save $25.00) and cleaning up the yard. The colleague stayed in our house fixed the pressure safety valve of the water heater. The refrigerator was bad but now it is on. Don’t know waht? After that, the colleague of ours will be back for her sister’s surgery on her lungs. And after that, our classmate will stay here for a couple of days.

Potluck Night

Tonight was potluck night at P’ng and Judy’s. They have a nice place in Lafayette (re: mega rich area) but they are just house sitting.

I get a lot of crap from the married people now about dating. Honestly, I think now if I find someone, it won’t be coming from my married friends. There’s too much pressure I feel hanging out as singles with a bunch of married people. It’s almost as if you’re being setup regardless of the fact. Somehow it didn’t feel this way when everyone was single…

Other than that, we had a big “Show a picture of your nephew” night. 3 other people had nephews that were born recently. Funny. I still think Vince is the cutest of course!
