Sweden, local football.

Jeremy’s off to Sweden to his brother’s Ben’s wedding, he took my camera so I’m photo-less for a few days. Mom and Dad are winging into town to keep us company.

The house that we are using right now is my parents, but it’s not the house that I grew up in, it’s a few miles away from the house I lived in when I went to high school. So we are in a different high school district. I went to Wootton, the high school down the streets is called Quince Orchard which wasn’t even built when I went to high school.

Turns out Quince Orchard has the best football team in the county. Can you believe it? And the first game on Sept 9th is against Wootton. I might have to go and see my old high school get trounced (as usual).

Oh wait, I just remembered that a few years after I graduated, Wootton’s high school football team did win, did they win States? Maybe. But the funny part of the story was that after an important win, our esteemed principle congratulated the team over the intercom and then proceeded tell the team to go to his office to grab some celebratory donuts and take the rest of the school day off. Hmmm, he got in a bit of hot water for that.

OK, wikipedeia is totally refuting my memory. Apparently when I was in high school, Wootton’s football team was great, was I not paying attention?

  1. I am going to take a guess here and say this is the most any of us will ever hear Doris say about football. Who knew she had such an interest. Go Team!
