Fundraising.

I have let more than half the month pass without mentioning RSAM, otherwise known as Rett Syndrome Awareness Month. Interesting it coincides with BCAM – Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Everything is pink in the stores! Coolers, hammers, cream cheese are all pink this month for BCAM. Wow, if I could get even a pinch of the same interest in RSAM, it would be lovely – I guess would everything be purple? Hmmm…

Anyways, this whole week, I’ve given up my lunch time gym hour (I already feel the fat settling into areas previously dominated by muscles) to organize (and stress out about) the silent auction over at this weekend’s stroll-a-thon in Fairfax, VA. I was doing well with corporate sponsorships and asking for donations until I got hit with this “full-time employment” thing. Such a time sink, you know, making a living and making sure everyone has perks like health insurance. I still have grand plans to ask another 40 people while printing out brochures for the silent auctions. We’ll see how much I get done. Anyways, if you are reading and want to donate to a worthy cause, here’s the link. Be sure to put Fairfax, VA for program area and Edda in the comments area. Every penny counts!
