So I had a 1-1 with my boss yesterday. I basically told her that I’m not doing anything. Her response was basically, “I know. Sorry.” Looks like they are trying to hammer out a spec for us, and that’s going to take at least another week. So I’m left here twiddling my thumbs. But I suppose it’s good to be paid to sit around. Ha!
All projects are like that at the beginning. Enjoy the slow at the beginning and work hard later.
I know the feeling. I have been paid to sit around and do nothing all over the world. It is sometimes hard to figure out how to take the best advantage of it, and avoid getting grumpy about it, but if you want to help me research preschools on the web in Singapore, that would be great!
Donald, I have been paid by hourly rate and per diem all these days just like that. I guess the important thing is that while waiting for heavy work, one can always find something that will improve one’s skill. The higher you go, the less busy it gets. But, the important thing is that although less actual work with your sleeves up, looking forward is necessary and much more difficult to do.
I would tell my boss that is there anything that I can help right away beside … Things like that nature.
