This is the Chua Chu Kang Neighborhood. We may live in either the Warren Condod (where the red star is) or the North Vale Condos. Both are right outside the MRT station. There are parks with playgrounds across the street (green area on right) and the Lot1 Mall has lots of stuff including a public library, a movie theater, a 10 minute kids haircut place, a ramen place, two sushi conveyor belt places, a grocery store, a day care center, a video game parlor, a food court and two McDonalds. Posted by Hello

A map of Singapore. The red star at Chua Chu Kang is a place we might live. I work just above the Kranji station (NS7 or number 7 on the north south MRT line) We also thought of living in Bishan (NS17). The tony area where a lot of ex-pats live is Orchard (NS22). Posted by Hello

Yesterday

We went swimming again at the Fishkill All-Sport. Again, I wanted to go to the outdoor pool, but it seemed like it was about to rain, so we went to the indoor pool instead.

Today we are going up to Bard and picking up the doggies and then tomorrow Bob and Katherine are coming in from NYC!

Real Politik

So I biked to work yesterday.. It only took me an hour or so to get in. Of course, since I’m paranoid about leaving my bike outside, and would never ever ever in a million years do that. I, of course, did what any other paranoid person would do, and I chained my bike up to the outside of my cube. I “worked” for the day, and then when 6 came around, I got changed a left.

Well today, my boss sent me an email telling me that someone complained about my bike being in the hall… great.

Referencing my picture below, there’s a hallway running down the left side of my cube. My cube is the inside corner cube.

Apparently, there’s a lot of senstive library materials being shuffled around and people say tehy might bump into my bike… But i dunno. The hallway is a good 8-9 feet wide and there’s already a clothes hanger to hold people’s jackets in the hallway.

so anyways, hopefully she isn’t just complaining about my bike in general. Plus, this is a great excuse too to get a folding bike. ha!

Weekend

Mom is heading to Washougal with her friends. The two houses on the other side of U St from 45th street, which have river view, are on market now. The asking prices are around $650,000.oo and we think they are too pricy.

Well, I am going back to Washington DC around 2:40 PM to meet my classmate’s kid who is going to work for the Patent Office. He will stay in our house for a couple days and later his dad may join him if he can not find an apartment right away. I can also do some yard work around the house.

Fun days, now a week left to go until Jeremy gets home.

Yesterday, we had a great day playing with Caleb and Grace over at the Ryans. We were over there from 10:30 to 2 and had a nice lunch of mac and cheese. On the way home, the kids fell asleep and then Vince wanted to see some fish, so I took him to a Petco and by the time I got home, it was 5pm. Pretty long day.

Today Vince wore his suit to school again. It’s pretty funny, him all dressed up. He told me I had to buy him some black shoes to go with the suit. Edda and I went to a park in Cold Spring about 5 miles south of our house. In the mornings, it’s not too hot so it’s nice to be outside.

Jeremy and I are slowly deciding on a place to live in SGP. I think it will be good.
