Tonight I’m in a funk. You know it’s that feeling you get when one of your not-so-close friends, but better-than-aquaintence friends spends $400 to get 3rd row tickets to the sold out Elton John concert with his new girlfriend and he runs to the lunch room all excited and tells everyone about how cool it’s going to be and even though you never really liked Elton John (a bit cheezy and what’s with the weird costumes?), it seems as if he’s having more fun than you sitting at home eating cold pizza and watching TiVoed episodes of Project Runway with some great friends who are bringing cold beers and you know you are going to laugh until it comes out your nose.
I know, it just doesn’t make any sense, because, really what is better than beer coming out of your nose?
First of all, I’ve seen Elton and he totally rocked. Second, Beer coming out my nose sounds really painful. All that to say, I just think you have the blues. That is normal and you gotta just go with it. If beer out your nose is a good time then so be it. I can only speak for me but when I’m in a funk, I try to do something different. Especially if all I want to do is stay inside and wallow. Like walking. Exercise always makes things seem better, at least for me. Maybe this will make you feel better or laugh. There was a time when at Halloween my friends and I want to be sorta cute little cats or bunnies. Now that I’m a mom, I’m going to be a bowl of spaghetti and meatball. Josh is Tinfoil Man. Just picture it.
Dude… grab some popcorn and watch the Sound of Music.
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad
Project Runway on Tivo with cold beers and some friends … sounds damn good to me!! way better than a packed stadium.

You guys are the best!
I know, I’m trying to pull myself out of my funk. You have to send a picture of your costumes!
(And I really do like Elton John.)
