Book Suggestions.

I’m looking for new book suggestions. Some guidelines.

Non-fiction:
– I like issues dealing with modern life themes.
– don’t want biographies.
– don’t want sheer history books.

fiction:
– Again, I relate a bit better to a modern themed book.
– not really looking for classics, more popular stuff.

Any suggestions?

  1. Eat, Pray, Love by elizabeth gilbert. I just checked it out from the library but Pauli said he liked it. Not sure if that is your cup of tea though.

  2. FICTION:
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini (as well as the next book by him but I can’t remember the title).
Ines Of My Soul by Isabel Allende
Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende
    Divisadero by Michael Ondaatje

    NON FICTION
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson – Hilarious
A short History of Everything by Bill Bryson (Chock full of info but may be easier to lisiten to on CD on a road trip)
Rats by Robert Sullivan This book is fascinating especially if you live or visit New York City
Stealing Lincoln’s Body by Thomas J. Craughwell The title says it all and so much more.

  3. Hrm. thanks. I’ll have to bookmark this in the future…

Just went to Border’s today, and got some books. Yi-Ling, sorry, Eat, Pray, Love seemed a little too hokie for me. 🙂

Sheila, I’ve read Kite Runner and loved it. It kept me wanting more.

    Current reading list:

    Life of Pi
    Better (about being a doctor)
I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell <- seemed fun. 🙂
