Boys got back from hiking the AT trail. They went 20 miles, covered half of the total distance across Maryland. The weather could not have been any better and they had a great time. Of course, I only get to see the pictures and hear the stories. The plan was 5 miles the first day, 10 miles the 2nd day and then 5 miles on the third day. On the AT, you must camp at designated camp sites which are 5 miles apart. According to them, five miles is too short and ten miles is too long. I think they would have been happy with 8 miles between campsites. They cooked and hiked and talked and set up camp.
