Bored at Work…
I’m just twiddling my thumbs today at work.
Rachel, my boss, is out sick today. Jonathan, my teammate is out for the rest of the week on vacation. Ellen, my teammate, left today to go to Italy for 6 weeks.
I don’t have any access to sign up for benefits and such either, and someone seems to be taking their sweet time with it. Otherwise, I had a good lunch at the Thai Cafe. Spicy chicken. Yum….
Back to twiddling….
Refrigerator
Well, I made the appointment using Internet. Double checked before leaving Pittsburgh. Guess what! The technician called sick and the dispatcher only notified me about 2 hours later around 10:30 AM this morning. The appointment was 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Would like to re-scheduled on Friday. No way! After several phone calls, an alternative finally showed up but without the right parts. He called almost every GE man around and went to get the parts and back. That was about an hour later. Finally, it was proclaimed “fixed”. But, I would rather wait for a couple of hours to make sure. Not a good day at all. Will leave for Pittsburgh around 5:00 PM.
Lovely Austin
So today, the kids got up a little bit later and we dropped off Jeremy at work and went to the Central Market for breakfast. Edda puked in the morning at 6:30 am, so I was on the lookout for her not feeling well, but she seemed OK all day. We went to storytime at BookPeople and because Austin is the live music capital of the world, the person read a book and then performed some of her original songs and promoted her CDs. Then we went to Whole Foods for lunch. That place is amazing. We went to the rooftop terrace and I sat under an awning and Vince played on the playscape for 2.5 hours. We went home and watched some TV and then picked Jeremy up and went to Josh’s last soccer game of the season, Scott is the team’s coach. I really love it here.
Mom -> High Tech
Mom is becoming high tech savvy- posting a lot of digital pictures on our blog. Well, I am impressed and believed Doris and/or Donald had something to do with this 🙂
Will Be Leaving for DC Again & XM Radio
Will be leaving for Washington DC again today after office hours. Tomorrow, the refrigerator in the house needs to be fixed. It is only 3 1/2 years old, quality of the American products is just very disappointing.
I heard from the news yesterday, XM radio tops 4M subscribers. It is excellent but I am not sure about the costs. Is it $12.95 a month? When expiring after 3 months, I probably will stop subscribing and wait for the price to come down or wait for the special offers.
