Anything more beautiful –
than a beautiful spring day? Nothing is easier to do than to take beautiful pictures of flowers. There are flowers everywhere and it makes spring so wonderful. I had a terrible bout of spring fever today. I did not want to do anything on my to-do list. I just wanted to go outside and be part of the world.
And have some onion rings.
Having 2nd thoughts.
I think Edda’s been sleeping too much at school. I suspect it’s because of her seizure medication, although I can not be sure. She’s been sick more often this winter than previous winters – although I’m not sure what to blame that on. I’m a little bewildered about what to do with Edda these days. She simultaneously needs so much in terms of daily care and also demands so little from me in terms of almost everything else.
Vince enjoys pushing Edda all over Target that I often can’t find either of them. I’m a little worried because Vince isn’t a very good driver –
It’s curious that most of the photos of Edda outside of the house are at Target. Maybe we should expand our repertoire.
We’ve also gone backward in our technology direction – we subscribed to the PAPER! With actual newsprint smudging on your fingertips. Crazy.
Eating, fixing, resting.
Vince is still sick, still recovering from his epic slumber party – I think it might be a while until we host one again.
I made his favorite curry on Friday night – which includes carrots.
We also spent some time fixing Edda’s brand new bath chair…

Donald’s (INTERNET) Birthday Party
Bath chair –
This is an expensive year special needs equipment-wise. In January, we bought the minivan with the accessible seat. We are now getting quotes to install the stair lift in the house. We are also ordering a new chair so that Edda can eat comfortably at the table as well as a new toilet seat. Just the other day, we got a bath chair so that I won’t have the fear of death (and the fear of throwing out my back) every time I lift Edda in and out of the bath.
See our beautiful bath chair –
Less than 48 hours after it was delivered, Maxi (the evil dog) chewed the power cord. That dog is a piece of work.
Happy Birthday, Donald
Happy Birthday, Donald! Mom & Dad
Slumber party on Wed night! Crazy.
Vince has wanted to host a slumber party for a while – so since there was no school today because of a professional day for teachers, we hosted a party of FIVE. There was a lot of DS-ing, a lot of Bayblade-ing and a lot of wrestling. Everyone got along, so no arguments, no slapping. Apparently the use of PJs is already out of style in the third grade, sleeping in one’s underwear is the way to go. The only misstep was that at 3:30 am when Jeremy was answering Edda’s nightly seizure call, he found three boys still bathed in the glow of tiny computer screens. Sigh. We should have taken all the electronics away at lights out. Must remember that tip for next time.
Bed heads all around after 3.5 hours of sleep. They are the easiest crowd to feed – pizza (cheese), Kraft Mac and Cheese (don’t try to slip in Annie’s mac and cheese) and some frozen waffles in the morning.
Of course, 2 hours after everyone left, Vince spiked a fever and is asleep. Exhaustion.
