Kiki was here the past two nights, she is off to New Mexico with Louisa for the next bit of time.
I’m really, really craving some time to myself to unwind and just watch Netflix or stare at my toes, but it’s still not happening, not this week. I’m hoping next week once school for the kids starts.
Today, I went downtown to see Tony and Tash and to celebrate Sara’s first birthday.
So happy to see them and to watch Sara look suspiciously at her smash cake.
I threw a 50th birthday party for Jeremy tonight. I needed encouragement from Vickey and Ning and Brian because I did not find out my work schedule until the 29th of August and it quickly became clear that tonight was the only night I could schedule it and I am tired and throwing a party is not in my natural wheelhouse and I’m doing so many things so rapidly that are outside my natural wheelhouse that I balked at doing this nice thing for Jeremy. Vickey said she’d bring ingredients for an ice cream bar (I bought 7 kinds of ice cream) and baked ziti and said – it’ll be fun! Balloons were bought, confetti cannons were procured. Many nice people were invited. We decided on a Minions theme and no cooking was done (by me) – we got BBQ from Mission BBQ and it turned out to be a lot of fun. I think it was just the party that Jeremy wanted. Happy 50th birthday sweetie. I’m glad this came together.
Other people took more exciting photos/videos than I did. I’ll post them when I get them. I’m back at the hospital tomorrow: on Thurs I saw a code blue on the floor and on Friday, I tried my best to carry a full load of patients. I’m not sleeping well. We’ll see what happens tomorrow! xoxo
