Hrm. I definitely think I am in the best shape of my life.

I set a new PR up King’s Mountain this morning. Usually I do it in about 31, so it’s a big chunk of time chopped off.

I did Mike’s usual Tuesday/Thursday ride – Mike is the owner of Chain Reaction. Usually I’m the slowest guy there and am far far behind them. Most people are racers or ex-racers and are generally considered to be pretty damn fast. in the range or 23-27 minutes on Kings. A pro that works in our shop does it in 20-21 minutes. But today I actually felt like I could keep up with Mike’s group. Sure I still got burned up the hill, but just not burned as badly.

One thing I’m really proud of, is that I took the sprint today. I pretty much knew I could do it. But then again, I was the youngest one there by probably 15 years, so maybe it’s not that big of an accomplishment.

I’ve got some pictures to post later. Incidentally, Doris, I am a follower and have purchase your exact camera from B&H. It’s pretty cool. I’m trying to be like you and carry it around everywhere.

Mom’s Cell Phone

Everytime, before using her cell, Mom had to look at her small phone book for numbers, page by page. Saturday morning, I voluteered myself to input all her numbers into her cell. Hoping that she can dial without looking into her book again. Guess what, she is still using her small phone book for numbers because she can not see the small numbers displayed on her cell.

Well, back to step one. I better find a way to display large characters on cell. So far, no success. Stay tune on this.

To lure Donald back to posting…

I’m posting this picture of Vince on his Gary Fisher Sun Spot bicycle. He’s been riding a bit these days, he knows how to back-pedal to stop to bike! Woo hoo.

Jeremy had the day off today because of the elections in Singapore. Vince went to school, Edda did not – she is still running a fever and coughing.

Vince’s school is letting out for a month in June and we are looking for a place for summer school. There is a place a few blocks from here that we visited today called the Ichiban Kindergarten and Vince promptly asked if he could go tomorrow which surprised us all, since we thought he so loyal to Appletree.

Dinner together.

Since we’ve been back our dinners have been improving. The first week we had take out since the fridge was empty. The second week, we had what I call our “simple suppers”, usually a rice, a veggie – steamed or stir fried and a meat, usually pan-fried, roasted, etc or pasta. All our “simple suppers” are done without a recipe and we have about 4 or 5 of them. Now we are back on our regular schedule. I subscribe to a bunch of cooking magazines and every week I try to plan out 4-5 new, quick dinners and I shop for the week and we try out a new dish. Tonight’s dish was salmon with lemon/pine nut/raisin relish over a bed of lettuce. Yum.
