Went to the Poughkeepsie Farm Project today and got spinach, lettuce, broccoli, bok choy and dandylion greens. Got mad at Vince yesterday for breaking my piano. Just lost it. I apologized to him. Ruby, the dog, is slowly being untrained. She’s eating eggs off the dining room table when we aren’t looking.

Crazy! Volvo is in the shop today. Homebound. Going to stay in my PJs all day today.
Last night, we went to Li-Hua’s house for the end-of-year Chinese drama plays. Then we had dumplings for dinner. Vince ran around like a mad man, Edda slept. Today we went to Red Hook for Edda’s 2 month shots/checkup but due to a paperwork snafu, she wasn’t insured. So we are going next week…
Well. well. well. A late night call from Taiwan through my dad’s contacts. Talk about plans turning topsy turvy. Thank goodness it’s Friday!
Went to see two houses in New Paltz. The first was a cottage for $1200 and was rented by the time we showed up. The second was a raised ranch on a quiet street about 3 miles from the center of town for $1500. We had dinner with Carla which was hectic because Vince was flying around as usual.
So last night’s piano lesson left Jeremy all frazzled. Edda won’t take a bottle, so she spend the whole time fussing. Arg.
Wow, what a hectic weekend… Saturday, we were at the park for most of the morning, it was a gorgeous day. Then a nap at home and then we headed to Asuka and Carrie’s suprise “Congrats, you got a job” party where we met my dad. Then on Sunday, a walk in the rain in Amenia and a look at the horse farm. Then afternoon, we saw a cute craftsman house in Poughkeepsie, slightly sketchy neighborhood, and too small. Then to Bard for an early dinner with Ben and Emily and the whole gang. Ben has his social life in disorder and Emily is pining away about an apartment. Also, their new phone works! Yah!
Dragged Vince around Bard crying. Edda was in her Bjorn. Talk abuut tough. Bought the Martins a new phone they have been needing for over a year.
Looking for a place to live. Saw a huge place ($1600) on a busy, busy street. I’ve been calling places left and right. Ugh. My phone phobia is retreating a little bit. Hmmm…. seeing places in Rhinebeck tomorrow. A friend’s cancer is back, she started her chemo yesterday.
Woke up and shimmied out of the house really quickly. We went to see a “luxury apt complex” opening in 2004 and what we saw was a bunch of firemen knocking through a wall of a house. Then we drove to Red Hook, dropped Vince off and went to see a house in Milan which was nice, but it really didn’t click. Then we went home via Target. No shoes for Vince, but a bunch of new socks. Dave came over for a chat. Seth came over to fix the tractor and mowed the lawn.
