So everyone is in bed. I’m about to head there myself. Vince and Dakshi had a nice time at music lesson. Vince peed in his pants twice (!) today – what is up with that? Good night!

Rett Syndrome Resource – Communication
New handheld computer/communication device.
Called Tango.
Looks cool, but Edda would have to push buttons that are pretty small.
Rett Syndrome Resource – Communication
I’m on a Rett Syndrome support group mailing list – there are so many great suggestions, I’m going to start putting links here on things that might help Edda so I can find them later.
For comparisions of head-pointing technology:
Ace-Center (located in the UK) – has training sessions.
Wow #2, Morning – Day 3
Jeremy’s dream came true!
Wow.
Basso was the favorite to win last year before being booted out in a durg scandal. Apparently the scandal has passed and he’s cleared to compete again. Discovery is Lance’s team – basically a team made to win the tour. Basso is now the Tour favorite.
Evening – Day 2
Well, another day without Jeremy. Kids asleep, dishes washed and Ruby has pooped. My day is done!
Without Jeremy, the house runs more efficiently. Fewer clothes to wash (-25%), fewer dishes to wash (at least 50% since I just had a sandwich for dinner), bath time promtly at 7 pm (with Vince initiating – Mom! It’s time to get into the tub!) and lights out at 7:45 pm and everyone asleep by 8 pm.
Jeremy brings the disorder and complexity into our family – a bit of whimsy fun sprinkled into the day. A song here, a tickle there, a long story over dinner, more laughing and messes. It’s true, there is more to clean up later, but I like it this way, without Jeremy my life would be so boring, I would just take the most convienent route. But with Jeremy, I’ve taken 3 days to make a banana cream pie, I fold shirts like they do at the GAP and not just in forths like I used to and I bought a house with him that was completely unpractical but perfectly beautiful. I think people who don’t know Jeremy that well might think of him as a serious guy – but really, he’s a softie with a warm heart and a goofball who likes to tell funny stories.
Football news.
Since there’s a huge football following on this blog (sarcastic), I thought I would update all those Redskins superfans out there (Vince) about how the season is going.
Well the Redskins blow. They are 3-5 and in last place in their division – and the stink! They did beat the Cowboys this past Sunday on a crazy ending. In the last 35 seconds of play, Skins miss a field gold, the cowboys get a field goal blocked, and the Skins kick the winning field goal with 0 time left on the clock.
In other related local (washington) sports news… Why do parents have to be so dumb?. They are just kids!
Also, in Fantasy news, I now lead my league with a 7-2 record. Yahoo!
Morning – Day 2
Good morning! We all slept well – except me. I don’t know, a bit nervous or something. At 11:30 pm, I finally had to crawl into bed with Vincent so I could finally fall asleep.
Evening – Day 1
The kids are in bed, Ruby has pooped and the dishes are done. My day is done! Edda puked up her snack today, but she has been complaining about eating snack at school for about a week now, but she eats well at home and seems chipper, I’m not sure what’s up. There are lots of new kids in the class, maybe she’s just getting used to having less teacher attention? I dunno.
I had a nice breakfast with a mom of a kid in Edda’s class – we walked over to the prata shop and I had my usual.
Vince also needed some major cajoling to get out of the house while Edda was having a therapy session. We made it out of the house after a bit of crying and went on to do ab crunches in the exercise park.
We handed out our Thanksgiving invitations and everyone seems excited to come. Yikes, 2 turkeys maybe? I hope I can find pecans in the grocery stores, sometimes they can be hard to find here.
Vince made a friend out of a broom.
I am playing a piece by Bartok with a wacky key signature. Even though your hands don’t change positions everything is kind of weird sounding and not what you are expecting so I can’t really play it. Yet.
Also, I’ve always been really keen on bird watching, it seems like such a great hobby to have. Go out into the woods and look and see a bird and then look it up in a field guide and then check it off a list. I have read many books about bird watching and they all make it seem so exciting. But the few times I’ve tried it, I realize that birds tend to be pretty small and quick little buggers and they are hard to find when they cheep-cheep-cheep and you can’t really tell if they are in front of you or behind you. So maybe I should convert bird IDing to plant IDing, at least you can walk up to a plant and take as many pictures as you want and they usually grow on the ground. So here’s a tree right outside our house. I have no idea what kind of tree it is, but I’ll figure it out someday.
I suppose I can just ask the gardeners.
Persimmons
We were pleasantly surprised to find out that we have about 10 persimmons on our tree that we planted about five years ago. It is a good way of decorating our yard during winter months. I got this idea from the residents of Beijing, China. Of course, their trees have a lot more. I hope they will stay there all winter. I wished it could have more, maybe, next year.
